How to compare apartments before you buy

Start with your budget, preferred city and neighbourhood, bedroom requirements and intended use. Compare the internal floor area, any balcony or veranda, the floor level and the reported construction stage. Advertised total areas can combine different spaces, so ask for the floor plan and separately stated internal and outdoor measurements before making a decision.

An advertised price is not necessarily the total cost of a purchase. Request an up-to-date written offer and clarify VAT, additional fees, instalment schedules, payment milestones and the expected handover timetable. For off-plan homes, independently check the relevant permits, land rights and the seller’s contractual obligations before committing any funds.

Project renderings and illustrative images do not guarantee a particular view, interior finish or exact layout of the apartment you select. Compare marketing materials with the technical specification and plan for that specific unit. Arrange independent checks of title, contracts and tax implications with appropriately qualified professionals.
